How Is The Mediterranean Diet Food Pyramid Different?

The Mediterranean Diet is a nutritional model that was created after the way that people in countries like Greece and Italy eat. They have been known to have a lower rate of cancer and other diseases in that area of the world, and so people have finally begun to give it some attention.

First developed by an American doctor in the 40s, this way of eating has just only recently become noticed by Americans in the late 1990s. Certainly better late than never, there are some differences between the Mediterranean Diet and the traditional American diet worth noting.

It begins with the food pyramids. The US version is very different from the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid. In the first place, you won’t find a lot of red meat in a Mediterranean Diet. Red meat is used in their cooking, but not often and in very small portions. And whereas the US Food Pyramid lumps all the different kinds of meat into one category, fish takes up a big portion in the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid.

Whole grain foods such as rice, bread, potatoes, couscous, and other things are what make up the main staple of Mediterranean dishes. Fruits and vegetables are also an important part of the Mediterranean diet, as are nuts and beans, and this is one thing that the two food pyramids have in common, although the quantities that are recommended are somewhat different.

When you look at the traditional US food pyramid and how it lumps protein altogether as one, you’ll find that it’s difficult to tell what specific parts each kind of food needs to play in your diet. The Mediterranean Diet food pyramid makes them more distinct from each other.

The reason why people have finally begun to pay attention to this Mediterranean way of thinking and eating is that they have been discovered to have shockingly low rates of cancer and other such diseases.

Red wine has been known to have some powerful antioxidants and the Mediterranean Diet includes a lot of red wine, in just about every meal and as often as possible. The same goes for olive oil, which is used in Mediterranean cooking and is also known to have some antioxidant properties. If you want to live a healthy life, check out the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid. It will help you not only look better, but you’ll feel better too.

Regulate Your Cholesterol Safely with Lippistat

Heart disease kills more men and women than any other cause in the United States. The consequences of cardiovascular disease also include heart attacks, strokes, and poor circulation that may ultimately require amputation of a limb. The good news is that some simple steps can greatly reduce your risk.

Fatty plaque can build up on the lining of blood vessels. This can narrow the blood vessels. Even a small clot can close the blood vessels off. This decreased blood flow is just one health risk of circulatory disease. Eventually, the fatty plaque can build up so much it blocks the blood vessels completely.

Plaque develops as a result of both dietary cholesterol and cholesterol naturally produced in the liver. Genetics are partly responsible for one’s risk, and although this cannot be changed, you can alter your diet as well as take substances to help reduce lipids from your diet as well as those manufactured by your liver.

Many people are genetically predisposed to heart disease and so simply changing their diets to avoid trans fats and saturated fats is not enough. Strong prescription medications are a solution, but are expensive and sometimes have severe side effects. Adding soluble fiber such as oat bran to the diet is helpful but not a cure-all by itself.

Lipistat is the solution that is affordable, convenient and all natural and completely vegetarian as well. Doctor Carlon Calker M.D. developed the formula for his patients combining ingredients known to prevent the uptake of harmful lipids and provide cardiovascular protection. Just as heart disease affects men and women, Lipistat can benefit both as well.

Lipitstat combines oat bran to isolate cholesterol, vitamins E and B6, plant sterols, folic acid, and omega 3 fatty acids, as well as spices and herbs. Together these ingredients help to keep your circulation healthy and to lower lipid levels in the blood in order to stop plaque from forming. Although these could be purchased on their own, Lipitat combines them to both save you money and to unleash their optimum effects.

While prescription drugs may also be effective, they may lead to muscle and liver damage, and they cost two to three times more than Lipistat. This product is available without a prescription, can be easily ordered over the internet, and can be automatically reordered every month.

Those who are currently taking prescription lipid controlling medications should not stop them and must discuss using any alternative therapy with their doctor, and everyone should discuss this potent treatment with the physician before starting. A baseline blood test will also allow the results to be assessed in a few months to see the real results and consider changing the prescriptions being used.

You should seriously consider taking Lipistat since it has been proven to offer possible protection against many grave medical conditions. Of course, you cannot rely on its protection alone; a low fat, heart healthy diet and regular physical exercise are crucial components of any plan to maintain to your long term health.

Unfortunately, heart disease kills more men and women in the United States than anything else. One of the culprits in circulatory disease is the build up of fatty plaque on the lining of blood vessels which narrows them and can eventually block them completely. Plaque develops as a result of both dietary and naturally produced cholesterol in the liver. Carlon Colker MD came up with the formula for Lipistat to help his patients. This is is inexpensive, natural, vegetarian, and easy to take. Before beginning this treatment, a physician should be contacted in order to discuss it as well as other alternative therapies.
